Membership Information
The State Society on Aging's strength is its diversity. Its members come from many disciplines and include:
- Educators at the college and university, secondary, and elementary school levels
- Older adults
- Health and social service professionals
- Aging network members
- Community leaders from the private and public sector
- Advocates for the elderly
- Administrators of acute and long-term care facilities and services
- Government agency officials
- Researchers in academic settings
- Students
- Others who serve the needs of older persons

All those concerned with aging are valued for their unique contribution to SSA.
Membership Types*
Organizational: $75 per year
Organizations are entitled to designate two voting members who will receive the SSA newsletter, membership directory, and discount rate for the annual conference. The organization will receive a free 1/4 page ad in the annual conference program book and be listed in publications.
Professional: $40 per year
Each professional member is a full voting member of SSA, receives the SSA newsletter and membership directory and is entitled to discount rate for the annual conference.
Student: $15 per year
Graduate or undergraduate students who are at least half-time (as verified by a faculty member) are voting members of the Student Committee, receive the SSA newsletter and membership directory and are entitled to special rate for the annual conference.
Senior: $15 per year
Those age 65 or over will receive the same benefits as the professional membership.
*Terms of Membership run for the calendar year in which they were paid. All memberships must be renewed in the Winter/Spring of the following year, regardless of when payment was made the previous year.
